The season of Lent is a 40-day season of preparation for Holy Week, when Christians enter into the last week of Christ's life on earth before his Resurrection on Easter Sunday. During this season we fast together, pray together, frequent Holy Communion, and confess our sins. Traditionally, this is also a time of preparation for "catechumens" (those seeking to become Christians) to receive baptism on Easter, so our fasting is also an expression of solidarity with men and women around the world who are preparing to enter the covenant family of God's Holy Church. During Lent, extra services are held every Wednesday evening at 7:30pm following our community Soup Suppers at 6:30pm-- ALL ARE WELCOME!
